What does the Lord require of you?

A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too I see is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat and find enjoyment? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness.
Ecclesiastes 2:24-26a

This passage was in my daily Bible reading. It really sums up how I feel at times; so often the whole life thing seems a bit pointless. You wake up, you eat, you do some work and then you go back to bed. And without God, that’s about it.
But this is looking at life without the big picture in mind. Without a view of the world as part of a plan that God has already written.
He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. . . That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
Ecclesiastes 3:11-14

Without God, I hate to think of where I would be now. He has given me a purpose and sense of fulfilment, even in the midst of an everyday, seemingly unexciting life. It reminded me of a verse in Micah;
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

After studing and teaching the Scriptures for 40 years I came to find out seven years ago that I need to have a Hebrew view if I was really to understand what God required of me. This website is the best to start with.
