Thinking

A four hour drive by myself to my parents place for Christmas gives me a lot of time to think.

I stare out over the hills and trees and let my mind wander.

I debate the meaning of several conversations I’ve had lately. I think about the year that just passed. I remember all the things I’ve accomplished. I think about the year ahead; get excited and make lists of things to do, places to go. I compose emails in my mind and hope I can remember them when I get around to writing. I have conversations with God, asking him for guidance in the future, pleading with him for answers.

I wish that someone would invent a quicker way to travel, but I’m also grateful that unlike Easter there is no traffic when the same trip took 7 hours instead of 4.
